It broke ground about a year-and-a-half ago. Now it's open for business.
The Hyatt House hotel, located in the Riverplace District along the Portland Streetcar line at 2080 S.W. River Dr., will celebrate with an official grand opening this evening. The hotel, a project of Williams & Dame, is six stories with 203 extended-stay rooms, a pool, fitness center and 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
In addition to Williams & Dame, the development team behind the project included EB5 Global, a firm led by Devin Williams, which raised equity capital for the project through the EB-5 Investor Green Card Program.
SERA Architects designed the building, which went for LEED Silver certification, and the contractor was Howard S. Wright. The same team also collaborated with Williams/Dame and EB5 Global on Portland's new Residence Inn by Marriott, the first hotel to open in the Pearl District.
The new hotel represents Hyatt's first foray into downtown Portland.
It's also the most recent in a long line of hotels set to deliver new rooms to the inner Portland area. Among the other projects currently under construction or in the pipeline are the Porter Hotel, the AC Hotel Portland, Broadway Tower, which will feature a Radisson RED hotel, and the Canopy Hotel in the Pearl District.
