A panel of leading authorities on Chinese immigration and real estate investment shared some interesting insights at the 8th Annual Chinese Business Conference held at Columbia University on March 27th. Here is a list of some of their observations as published by China Daily.
· Chinese investors will continue to focus primarily on gateway cities like New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
· New York and California are the primary locations for EB-5 investments because they were the first areas to take advantage of the program.
· The bulk of EB-5 investments have been made for Chinese students to take advantage of an education at U.S. universities.
· The development and spread of the internet has allowed potential investment projects to be more visible to foreign investors.
· Recognizing the U.S. as a safe haven for their money, will continue to give Chinese EB-5 investors the confidence to keep investing in U.S. projects.
