The mid-term elections are over and, with the Republicans now in control of the legislative branch of the government, it will be interesting to see what will become of immigration reform. On that subject, there is one thing of which we can be certain: There will be some form of immigration reform that will pass Congress. What remains to be seen in how the Obama administration will weigh in.
For the average American, immigration reform has something to do with the flood of immigrants coming across our southern border with Mexico. But there is far more at stake, including the future of the EB-5 investment visa program. Several congressmen have been promoting the expansion of the EB-5 program as more and more leaders in business and politics are becoming aware of the benefits of EB-5 for everyone involved.
While the broad subject of immigration reform is a political hot potato, the EB-5 program, for which legitimate demand from foreign investors far outweighs the current quota limitation, sometimes seems to be an afterthought. The EB-5 visa program is one of the most well-conceived socio-economic programs in U.S. history. We encourage you to contact your congressman and voice your support for expanding the quotas on EB-5 visas.
