The Le Méridien is one of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts (NYSE:HOT) most luxurious brands, although the majority are located outside of the U.S. Funding from EB-5 investors is being used to build its newest premium hotel as part of Cleveland’s downtown restoration project.
Once completed, the hotel will offer 206 rooms, an indoor pool, a 3,000 square foot, upscale restaurant and bar, more than 10,000 square feet of retail space, a 24-hour fitness center, and a 125-space parking garage. The restoration of the vacant, historic John Hartness Brown building on Cleveland’s Euclid Avenue has passed the environmental cleanup stage and is well on its way to a projected January 2016 grand opening.
The project is owned by JHB Hotel LLC and supported in part by the Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Heritage Ohio and the Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation.
